Meet Cyndi

Mother. Teacher. Oklahoman.

The child of teachers, Cyndi is a proud product of Oklahoma’s public schools. After graduating from Del City High School, she attended the University of Oklahoma as part of the President’s Leadership Class. Moving to Lubbock, Texas, she received her degree in English from Texas Tech University. Returning to school after her older son was born, she went on to pursue her teacher certification at the University of Central Oklahoma and her Master’s in Education from the University of Texas at Arlington.

A National Board-Certified Teacher, Cyndi was honored to teach AP English to the remarkable students at Deer Creek High School, Heritage Hall School, and Piedmont High School, where she was selected as District Teacher of the Year for Piedmont Public Schools in 2015. Cyndi was a finalist for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year in 2015.

In her current role as the Director of College Counseling, Cyndi works with some of the State’s best and brightest students at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, Oklahoma’s top-ranked publicly funded high school.

Cyndi has two adult sons and lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Jacky and her most charming dog Tito.
